PROGRAMMING
IN SCHOOL TOURS
Blindspot Collective offers in-school performances as well as extended learning opportunities based on shows and led by professional teaching artists. These shows and programs are tailored for enrichment and education and have previously explored topics such as racism, bullying, and compassion. Past examples include Lit and several others based in Forum Theatre practices.
PERFORMING ARTS RESIDENCIES
Our performing arts residencies are typically developed in consultation with the school or individual teacher. Our work has included programs with JCCS schools, elementary, middle, and high schools exploring arts skills including writing, poetry, performance, design, and verbatim theatre. Our programs are offered both during school hours and for after school programs.
ARTS INTEGRATION ENRICHMENT
Blindspot Collective partners with schools and teachers to introduce art skills while teaching core subject areas. Examples of past programs include California history, exploring mythology to introduce Greek history, and using dance to explore magnetism and other science content.
IN/AFTER SCHOOL SEL PROGRAMS
Social emotional learning (SEL) is a methodology that helps students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others. Our past programs have explored personal storytelling, poetry, and performance art to further better understanding of themselves and each other.
