ABOUT THE SHOW
Amal Walks Across America is a global event telling a powerful story in a unique way, and we are inviting YOU to join us!
Little Amal is a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl, spreading her story of
hope as she discovers the beating heart of America, its blended culture and diverse people
Little Amal, the internationally-celebrated 12-foot-tall puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl, will be visiting San Diego on November 3-5 as part of her epic 6,000-mile journey across the United States this fall. Throughout the two-month trek, which will span more than 35 U.S. cities and towns for 100+ events, some of the country’s most influential cultural institutions and artists will come together to greet Amal and add their unique color to the rich tapestry of America’s story.
During her stop in San Diego, Blindspot Collective is honored to join other arts organizations such as La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Symphony, and Casa Familiar to create a series of "events of welcome" for Amal. We are honored to have the chance to perform with Amal during her last days in the United States.
The event will be held in Mission Beach at 6pm on Saturday, November 4th. Audiences will be greeted by games, art projects, and an invitation to sit with us for a family-style picnic, before being joined by Little Amal herself as we explore the hope that she has shared across the world and her continued search for peace and belonging.

In what ways is the event interactive?
Audiences will be invited to join us in the experience by enjoying a picnic and following Little Amal down to the beach. Although audience members may not interact directly with Amal, this piece will be mobile.
What should I bring?
This event will be held in the evening, therefore we encourage audiences to wear a jacket. We also encourage you to bring blankets, chairs, and hand sanitizer.
What should I wear?
Audience members should wear their preferred nighttime beach attire. Be advised that the audience will be moving from grass and onto the sand, so wear shoes that are comfortable for both.
